What Are AeroBarrier & Aeroseal?

AeroBarrier is a water-based and non-toxic sealant that can meet, and often exceed, high levels of airtightness. The sealant is aerosolized and released into the pressurized interior space of a building, automatically finding and sealing gaps, cracks, and leaks up to 1⁄2 inch wide. AeroBarrier creates an airtight envelope and is ideal for new construction.

Aeroseal is a similar technology from the same manufacturer, Aeroseal, that is exclusively focused on sealing ductwork within an HVAC system. Aeroseal works by injecting a sealant into the ductwork under pressure, which will then adhere to the edges of the leaks and effectively seal them without coating the entire duct system.

Duct Sealing with Aeroseal

While traditional duct sealing involves manually locating and sealing leaks with foil tape or other sealants, Aeroseal offers a more comprehensive and efficient solution. Aeroseal’s duct sealing technology seals ductwork using a non-toxic aerosol sealant. The process pressurizes your ducts and precisely seals leaks from the inside out without coating the entire duct interior. Aeroseal’s advanced formula won’t stick elsewhere in your ductwork, ensuring its integrity is maintained. ARC Insulation monitors the process in real-time.

Aeroseal as a duct sealant improves HVAC efficiency, air quality, and comfort. It’s suitable for new constructions and retrofits.

The AeroBarrier/Aeroseal Process for New Construction

ARC Insulation will ensure that your new construction project stays on schedule and budget with our AeroBarrier and Aeroseal services. We follow a quick and thorough process on every job, which includes:

  • Preparation

Aeroseal products will seal anything so our team will cover up anything in the building that should not be sealed before setting up the AeroBarrier/Seal equipment.

  • Application

We’ll pressurize the space using blower doors to establish a baseline of air leakage and begin pumping the aerosolized mist into the building or ductwork.

  • Real-Time Monitoring

Throughout the application process, we’ll continuously run the blower door and monitor the progress using Aeroseal’s patented software to ensure all air leaks are sealed effectively.

  • Clean Up

After just 30 minutes, we’ll give you a report of the application process with verified air sealing and you can resume construction.
